'Military May Days' Honor Service Members, Families
PHOENIX — TriWest Healthcare Alliance is saying “thanks” to service members and their families during May’s National Military Appreciation Month through its “Military May Days” initiative.
TriWest is sponsoring events every day in May throughout the 21 western states it serves, including free tickets to baseball games and sponsorship of concerts and parades honoring the military community.
Find a list of Military May Days events at www.triwest.com and events presented around the nation are listed at http://www.nmam.org/events.htm on the National Military Appreciation Month Web site.
“We encourage everyone who is serving our country in uniform to come out and enjoy the events TriWest and the nation are presenting and let us show just how much we appreciate and need you,” said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr.
All year long, TriWest supports the military in a host of other ways, including sponsoring Armed Services YMCA programs for military families, the USO; the Fisher House Foundation, the National Military Family Association, the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Disabled American Veterans and others.
In a special project, TriWest sponsored For the Troops II, a compilation of music from Grammy award winners and nominees, available for free download for U.S. active duty service members and veterans worldwide at http://www.aafes.com/.
“I encourage individuals and businesses to join us in showing support for our courageous military members and their families, even with a simple ’thank you for your service’ when you see someone in uniform,” McIntyre said. “That’s a small thing but it means a lot to those who are serving and sacrificing for our freedoms.”
