American Red CrossKeeps the public prepared to respond to disasters and personal emergencies. Additionally, the organziation provides training in lifesaving skills, collects and distributes half the nation’s blood supply, and helps victims of more than 67,000 disasters annually. In partnership with the Red Cross, TriWest sponsors Coping with Deployment: Psychological First Aid for Military Families courses that help families respond to the challenges that military family members may encounter throughout the deployment cycle.
Armed Services YMCAThis non-profit organization, working with the Department of Defense, has provided support services to our nation’s military Service members and their families for more than 140 years.
Congressional Medal of Honor FoundationPerpetuates the legacy of the Congressional Medal of Honor and its recipients. TriWest President and CEO David J. Enlisted Association of the National GuardPromotes the status, welfare and professionalism of enlisted members of the National Guard by supporting legislation that provides adequate staffing, pay, benefits, entitlements, equipment and installations for the National Guard.
Employer Support of the Guard and ReserveESGR was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and to help resolve conflicts between Reserve component members and their civilian employers arising from an employee’s military commitment.
Families UnitedAn organization of Gold Star and Blue Star families, veterans and Americans who support our military, their families and their mission, provides the resources, programs, and community these families need to continue to stand behind our troops.
Fisher HouseA network of “comfort homes” built near major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to their loved ones during stressful times of extended medical care.
Marine Corps-Law Enforcement FoundationProvides financial assistance to children of Marines who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
Marine Corps Scholarship FoundationNation’s oldest and largest need-based scholarship organization supporting U.S. military families. Since 1962, the Foundation has provided 24,000 scholarships valued at $50 million.
Military Officers Association of AmericaConsists of active duty Service members, National Guard, Reserves, retirees and former officers of all services and their surviving spouses. It was established to promote state and national legislative programs aimed at protect the interests of members, their dependents and survivors.
National Guard Association of the United StatesNonpartisan organization representing nearly 45,000 current and former Army and Air National Guard officers. Formed in 1878, NGAUS is focused on procuring better equipment, standardized training and a more combat-ready force by petitioning Congress for resources.
National Fatherhood InitiativeStrives to ensure that every child has the love and commitment of a devoted father by offering a variety of tools and resources for dads in many diverse settings. NFI supports military fathers through TriWest-sponsored programs Drop Dad a Line and the Military Fatherhood Award.
National Guard Youth ChalleNGeIn addition to providing at-risk teens the opportunity to complete basic academic courses, National Guard Youth ChalleNGe provides valuable life skills training emphasizing physical fitness and personal discipline. TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. serves as a board member and encourages state representatives in the West Region to offer Youth ChalleNGe programs.
Navy-Marine Corps Relief SocietyNavy—Marine Corps Relief Society Sponsored by the Department of the Navy, the Navy—Marine Corps Relief Society provides financial, educational and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.
Operation HomefrontProvides emergency and morale assistance for our troops, the families they leave behind, and for wounded warriors when they return home, and has met more than 257,000 needs of military families since 2001.
Paralyzed Veterans of AmericaProvides disabled veterans and their families have everything they need to thrive. TriWest supports PVA’s annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games.
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer FoundationThe world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists working together to save lives, empower people and ensure quality care for all. The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
TAPSTragedy Assistance Program for Survivors offers hope, healing, comfort and care to American Armed Forces families grieving after the death of a Service member. TriWest sends families to TAPS’ “Good Grief Camps” to bolster healthy emotional healing in children who’ve lost parents in service.
Toys for TotsHelping needy children experience the joys of the holidays, uniting local communities in a common cause and motivating children to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and future community leaders.

About Community Relations TriWest Healthcare Alliance exists solely to serve the health care needs of the TRICARE West Region’s eligible TRICARE population—military Service members, military retirees and their families. The Community Relations department aims to take this mission of service one step further—to not only serve the healthcare needs of our customers, but also to support the community organizations that serve this most deserving population in many different ways. |
