Beth Dodd Named 2019 CFO of the Year by FEI, AZ Chapter
Phoenix, Arizona (November 15, 2019) – TriWest Healthcare Alliance, one of the largest government contractors based in the state of Arizona, announces today that its Chief Financial Officer, Beth Dodd, was awarded the 2019 CFO of the Year Award for the large company category by Financial Executives International, Arizona Chapter.
Dodd was among seven outstanding finalists in the category and was selected this year’s winner on Thursday, Nov. 14, at a ceremony in Phoenix attended by a record crowd.
“Beth’s ethical approach to decision making and never-give-up attitude make her a true leader in our organization and invaluable teammate in this critical role,” said David J. McIntyre, Jr., TriWest President and CEO. “I’ve had the honor of working with her by my side for more than 20 years. She deserves this award and so much more for always putting the needs of our military and Veteran customers first.”
As CFO, Beth is responsible for the planning, directing, and strict monitoring of TriWest’s financial, accounting, and reporting activities, as well as other key functions. As a member of the company’s Core Leadership Team, Beth’s full portfolio of responsibility includes oversight of the following departments: Finance and Accounting, Information Technology, Contract Administration, Subcontract Administration, Claims Administration, Data Management, Tax, Treasury, and Facilities.
In 2013, after the loss of the company’s only major contract, a Defense Department TRICARE contract, during a protracted multi-year bid and protest process, Beth was instrumental to the development of a new business plan which culminated in bidding on and securing a series of contracts with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to support them in meeting the health care needs of the nation’s Veterans. This was quite an undertaking, involving implementing a new line of business, going from hundreds to thousands of employees in a matter of months, and overseeing substantial outlays of capital investment into systems and processes in the initial phases of operation under the new contract.
“It is truly an honor to be named CFO of the Year,” said Dodd. “This is a huge testament to the powerful teamwork at TriWest. We’ve certainly had some ups and downs but the whole company has stayed focused and committed to making sure that our nation’s Veterans continue to get the high quality care that they deserve. That’s our mission and this award is just a small reflection of what we do every day.”
