Veterans Affairs Brings Awareness to PACT Act Benefits
WASHINGTON (March 31, 2023) – The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is conducting a PACT Act benefits awareness campaign to inform Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors about expanded care and benefits for Veterans who may have been exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances.
The expanded benefits, authorized through last year’s PACT Act legislation, are available to Veterans who meet established eligibility criteria.
The awareness campaign is designed to reach Veterans who may have been affected by toxic exposure and encourage them, their families, caregivers or others who provide support to file a claim.
The PACT Act impacts Veterans and their families whose claims are approved through expanded access to VA benefits and health care.
Since the campaign launched early this year, VA has conducted more than 1,500 awareness events across the country. Events have varied from day-long claims clinics to community town halls and more, according to VA.
PACT Act awareness events continue to be scheduled and to search for upcoming local events, visit VA’s Outreach events page.
