Heroes & History Makers Celebration Honors Millions of Military Caregivers

PHOENIX (October 12, 2023) – On Oct. 11, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation held its 6th annual Heroes & History Makers Celebration to honor the millions of caregivers who support wounded Service Members and Veterans at home.

TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) was a proud sponsor of this year’s Heroes & History Makers Celebration. TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre and the 2023 Heroes & History Makers Host Committee Chairman, shared appreciation for America’s Hidden Heroes.

“For close to three decades our company has been proud to support the health care needs of those who serve in uniform services,” McIntyre said. “Through that experience I have witnessed firsthand how the physical and emotional sacrifices made in war can last a lifetime.”

“Caregivers are vital to the recovery and long-term wellness of wounded warriors,” McIntyre emphasized. “Without question, supporting military caregivers is part of the pact that we made as a nation to the military community when they issued the call to service. We’re humbled to support them in that effort.”

Throughout the year, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation works to raise awareness of the Hidden Helpers – spouses, parents and family members – who support our nation’s wounded Service Members and Veterans as their caregivers.

TriWest is a long-time supporter of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and its mission to strengthen, empower, and support America’s military and Veteran caregivers and their families.
