TriWest Announces Commitment to Veteran Economic Communities Initiative
PHOENIX, Ariz., June 4, 2015 – TriWest Healthcare Alliance announced its commitment to the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Veteran Economic Communities Initiative (VECI) at a press conference Thursday with Mayor Greg Stanton and leaders from APS, AZ Department of Veterans Services, and The Arizona Coalition for Military Families.
The goal of the VECI is to increase education and employment opportunities for America’s Veterans by bringing together local and national employers to coordinate services for Veterans, Service members and military families. TriWest is a partner to VA in administering the Patient-Centered Community Care (PC3) and Veterans Choice Program (VCP).
TriWest President and CEO, David McIntyre says our nation’s Veterans bring a tremendous value to today’s workforce and TriWest is committed to employing them.

The VECI aims to increase the number of education and employment opportunities for Veterans and their families through a network of support at the local community level. The first 25 VECI communities will serve as models for other communities to follow, so that Veterans and their families nationwide have the opportunities and support they need to achieve economic success. TriWest has locations in three of the first 25 VECI communities.
“Our commitment to the Veterans Economic Communities Initiative will be our focus as we expand company-wide to our Phoenix, Honolulu and Puyallup, Wash. locations,” said McIntyre, “At TriWest, we are honored to be a part of this important effort and encourage Veterans to seek opportunities with us to serve fellow Veterans.”
