TAPS National Military Survivors Seminar Offers Care, Compassion and Support
WASHINGTON (June 2, 2023) – Over Memorial Day weekend May 26-29, TAPS, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors organization, held its National Military Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp, gathering families of fallen military members and providing support, care and compassion.
Founded in 1994, TAPS is a nationwide non-profit that helps family survivors of fallen military members by providing a community where they can join others who have also experienced the loss of a loved one through military service.
Through its workshops and programs, TAPS serves families by helping them access survivor benefits, acquire counseling and youth services, and connect with other important resources.
TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) has proudly supported TAPS for more than 20 years as part of its ongoing commitment to Veteran and military-connected communities. TriWest’s mission is to serve those who have served, and honor our nation’s military and Gold Star families.
At this year’s TAPS seminar, David J. McIntyre, Jr., TriWest President and CEO, paid tribute to the nation’s fallen Service Members in his address to loved ones during opening ceremonies.
“We honor all of those who have sacrificed for our freedoms,” McIntyre expressed. “To the families of the fallen, we could not be more proud to help support the great mission of TAPS, from counseling to grief support and case workers, to a new initiative for more hands-on help to survivors.”
Since its founding, TAPS has been dedicated to providing ongoing support, care and resources to families and loved ones coping with the loss of Active Duty Service Members or Veterans.
