VA Announces New Vet Centers for No-Cost Veteran and Service Member Counseling

WASHINGTON (December 1, 2023) The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has announced the addition of three new Vet Centers and six Vet Center Outstations for Veterans and Service Members to receive improved access to counseling.

Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a range of social and psychological services. Eligible Veterans, Service Members and their families can receive no-cost professional counseling, and receive referrals to connect them with their VA health care or benefits, according to VA.

Vet Center services include counseling for post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and the psychological effects of sexual trauma, VA says. The new Vet Centers will be located in Arizona, California, Minnesota, New Jersey, Tennessee, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
