VA CCN Providers Invited to Attend Veterans Toxic Exposure Benefits Training
PHOENIX (May 08, 2024) — The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through its Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is inviting Community Care Network (CCN) providers to attend upcoming online PACT Act Training to learn more about Veteran health care benefits for those who experienced toxic exposures during their service.
The live training, scheduled in two session options on May 15 or May 29, is titled “Partnering with Community Providers to Promote Exposure-Informed Care for Veterans.”
The May 15 session will be at 12 p.m. ET, and the May 29 session will be at 3 p.m. ET. The separate session options allow CCN providers an opportunity to choose a training that works best for their schedule.
TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) encourages its VA CCN Region 4 and 5 providers to attend one of the sessions for a better understanding of available PACT Act benefits for Veterans in the community.
The sessions will feature Dr. Chad Kessler, National Program Director for Emergency Care at VHA, and Dr. Stephen C. Hunt, the lead physician driving implementation of toxic exposure screening at VHA facilities across the nation.
The expert training will:
- Define exposure-informed care and its benefits to non-VA health care partners.
- Provide concrete strategies to incorporate exposure-informed care into a comprehensive approach to Veteran health care.
- Describe how VHA envisions the future of exposure-informed health care.
- Explore strategies to reach those goals and provide enhanced whole health care to Veterans.
TriWest CCN providers interested and available to attend the upcoming PACT Act training are encouraged to visit VHA Train for more information and registration.
