Suicide Prevention Month is a Time for S.A.V.E. Training and Refreshed Knowledge
PHOENIX (September 3, 2024) — September is Suicide Prevention Month. It is a reminder of the importance of being prepared to help others in crisis, especially since military and Veteran communities share increased risks of suicide.
Suicide Prevention Month is an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge because research shows that Veterans have higher suicide rates than the general population. Military members are also more vulnerable to taking their own lives.
