TriWest Network Reaches 50 Million Veteran Health Care Appointments in Community
Phoenix, AZ (November 21, 2022) – TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) announced today that its network has reached the major milestone of 50 million health care encounters being provided for Veterans since the company started its work alongside the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in 2013.
As a third party administrator for VA's Community Care Network (CCN) contract covering Regions 4 and 5, TriWest provides access to health care for Veterans throughout the Western U.S., covering 14 states and the U.S. Pacific Territories.
"As we approach Thanksgiving we are thankful to our network of medical professionals for all they are doing to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in helping provide access to care for our nation’s heroes and ensuring Veterans don’t face lengthy wait times, drive unreasonable distances or have to go without needed care," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. "The services they are providing covers the entire spectrum…from transplants, cancer, heart, mental health and women’s services to acupuncture, primary care and urgent care. And, we are extremely proud of the commitment of the health care providers in our network to deliver the needed elasticity in order to strengthen VA's ability to achieve its mission of meeting the health care needs of those who sacrifice so much for freedom on behalf of a grateful nation," he added.
Since 2013, TriWest has served as a partner to VA to provide Veterans with access to care in the community. Under its contracts with VA in CCN Regions 4 and 5, TriWest is responsible for supporting VA by building and maintaining a network of community health care professionals, paying claims, and providing customer service.
"This milestone is a reflection of our partnership with VA and commitment to build a provider network so Veterans receive convenient, quality care that they have earned and deserve," McIntyre said. "Achieving this milestone of 50 million appointments in the community would not be possible without the medical professionals who have stepped up to provide care for Veterans' needs when VA is unable to provide the care directly."
TriWest was formed in 1996 as the only company of its kind, with one sole purpose that continues today as a proud organization serving the health care needs of our honored military and Veteran communities.
