About TriWest

TriWest Healthcare Alliance is driven by its sole mission to proudly serve those who serve or have served our nation in uniform.

Founded in 1996, Phoenix-based TriWest was formed with one purpose that remains today. We partner with the U.S. government to do Whatever It Takes!® to connect our nation’s military and Veteran communities to the high-quality, community-based health care they have earned and deserve.

Our Work with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD)

TriWest is privileged to return to DOD’s side for TRICARE health care delivery starting January 1, 2025, in the West Region. We are expanding our strong network of local health care providers to serve military-connected beneficiaries across the 26-state West Region. TriWest previously held and administered TRICARE contracts with DOD for 17 years from 1996–2013.

Our Work with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

TriWest is privileged to serve Veterans by connecting them to convenient, high-quality health care they deserve. We partner with VA to serve the health care needs of Veterans in 14 western states and the U.S. Pacific Island Territories under VA Community Care Network Regions 4 and 5. Since 2013, Veterans have received more than 65 million medical appointments from our network of community-based providers. On average, 99% of clean medical claims are processed within seven days for provider payment.
