TriWest Selected for  2021 HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion From The  U.S. Dept. of Labor for Success in Hiring Veterans

(Phoenix, AZ) – U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh announced TriWest Healthcare Alliance has been honored with the prestigious 2021 HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Award in recognition of the company’s recruiting, hiring, and retention of employees who are military Veterans. Achieving this Platinum level recognition, which is the highest level, signifies that TriWest not only exceeds hiring and retention goals at the highest level but also has significant programs and policies in place to support the unique needs of Veterans and military families.

“TriWest is deeply humbled and honored to be recognized by the Department of Labor as a top employer of America’s Veterans,” said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. “Hiring Veterans, who have honorably served our great nation in uniform, and providing them with an opportunity to give back to their fellow Veterans has been central to who we are as a company for 25 years.”

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal recognition of its kind recognizing the exceptional achievements of employers who value the unique skills, integrity and mission-driven purpose that Veterans bring to the workplace. The majority of the TriWest workforce is made up of Veterans, military family members, Guard and Reserve members, and their spouses.

Recipients of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award must meet rigorous employment and integration assistance criteria for Veterans. In addition to Veteran hiring, TriWest was recognized for its commitment to Veterans in the workplace as it offers paid volunteer leave to serve military and Veteran organizations and offers programs and a Veteran Resource Group to better serve Veteran employees.

Currently, TriWest is privileged to support the health care needs of our nation's Veterans, offering access to quality provider networks and excellent customer service through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Network in Regions 4 and 5. For the prior 17 years, TriWest administered the Department of Defense TRICARE program.

“We couldn’t do this important work without the passion and commitment of our employees, all of whom are dedicated to ensuring our nation’s military and Veterans receive the quality care they have earned, and so rightfully deserve,” said McIntyre. “We look forward to serving our nation’s military, military families and Veterans for many years to come.”
