TriWest Employees Share Deep Military Connections in Recognition of Black History Month

PHOENIX (February 20, 2024) – Recognizing and observing Black History Month is an important opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the lasting contributions Black Americans have made in U.S. history. The important contributions of Black Americans to advance our nation, including in the U.S. military, reach back as far as the Revolutionary War.

Black Americans have fought and sacrificed for the nation through generations of history. Our nation's slavery past, the ensuing Civil War, and decades of racial discrimination and mistreatment are all factors woven into our national fabric. Through these challenging eras, Black Americans endured, fought and sacrificed to demonstrate their strength, bravery and patriotism.

In observance and recognition of the historical contributions of Black Americans during Black History Month, TriWest Healthcare Alliance recently spoke with three employees about the importance of the month.

Each maintains a personal connection to the military and its deep history with Black families, and are extremely proud of their heritage.
