Caregiver Strategies for PTSD Management
PHOENIX (June 25, 2026) – June is PTSD Awareness Month, a reminder that invisible wounds matter and healing is possible with the right support. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) impacts over 12 million people in the U.S. alone—including combat Veterans, active duty military, and civilian survivors of accidents, abuse, or natural disasters. While many survivors appear perfectly fine on the outside, they may privately endure an exhausting daily battle with flashbacks, emotional numbness, and hypervigilance.
Because these psychological wounds are often hidden, recovery cannot happen in isolation. Healing requires awareness, acceptance, and the profound empathy of dedicated caregivers.
Watch this new Healthy Homefront® video where we spoke with TriWest’s Mental Health Medical Director about how you can help a loved one with PTSD navigate their healing journey.
