TriWest Honored to Begin Health Care Delivery in TRICARE West Region

As of January 1, 2025, TriWest Healthcare Alliance is the contractor for the new 26-state TRICARE West Region. On behalf of Team TriWest, including our non-profit health care plan and university hospital system owners, our employees, subcontractors, and the health care providers with whom we partner, we thank the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for entrusting us with this important mission. We look forward to helping support the vision of the Defense Department in improving the effectiveness of the TRICARE Health Plan for the military community.

TriWest has held TRICARE contracts with the DOD for 17 years, beginning in 1996 through 2013, also in the Western United States. We are honored to be returning to this privileged work as the regional contractor in the West Region, where our role is to support the DOD by delivering access to health care for the military community and their loved ones when called on to do so.

Since 2013, TriWest has been a partner of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We have been privileged to support our nation's Veterans by administering VA’s Community Care Network (CCN) in the West. Under that contract, our network has delivered more than 65 million health care encounters.
