TRICARE Pharmacy Program Prescription Activation Improves with Updated Q-Anywhere Feature
PHOENIX (August 10, 2026) – Many TRICARE plan beneficiaries who have a Pharmacy Program know military pharmacies operate differently than their civilian counterparts.
In military pharmacies, a healthcare provider issues a new prescription which needs activation by the patient before a pharmacist will fill the order.
For new prescription activation without being in a military pharmacy, the Defense Health Agency (DHA) recently updated its Q-Anywhere feature to make activation and pickup easier.
The Q-Anywhere app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Beneficiaries can then search the app for their military hospital or clinic on the location list and follow prompts to get a Q-Anywhere number.
Beneficiaries can also text their local participating military pharmacy or scan its unique QR code to activate a prescription.
Learn more: This recent TRICARE Newsroom article shares a Q&A how to use the Q-Anywhere feature with a TRICARE Pharmacy Program benefit.
