TRICARE Beneficiary Counseling and Assistance Coordinators Can Help Unlock Benefits

PHOENIX (April 21, 2025) – The Defense Health Agency (DHA) encourages TRICARE beneficiaries to reach out for available support and resources to access benefits in their health care coverage plans.

According to DHA, TRICARE beneficiaries should first contact their regional administrator with any questions, concerns and issues regarding their coverage benefits. As the TRICARE West Region administrator, TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) is dedicated to helping beneficiaries with their health plan coverage questions, concerns, and issues.

TriWest also provides assistance regarding plan enrollment, claims, referrals, and provider networks. In cases where beneficiaries may still need help after contacting TriWest, DHA emphasizes it has additional support available to help resolve TRICARE questions and issues.

Beneficiary Counseling and Assistance Coordinators (BCACs) are available to any TRICARE beneficiary who needs additional help navigating their health plan benefits. They are available at any military hospital or clinic and can explain beneficiaries’ plans and how their benefits work, DHA says.

BCACs work closely with TriWest and its claims processor to help efficiently address and resolve beneficiaries’ questions and concerns. BCACs are specifically trained to take a deeper look at issues and help guide beneficiaries to a solution, DHA adds.

TRICARE West Region beneficiaries can read more about BCACS in this recent TRICARE Newsroom article on how to unlock TRICARE plan benefits.
